Not good.
Love the books for my 3 yr old grand daughter. She loves when grandma reads to her. We can read book after book this way.
I wanted a book for my 6 year old to read and enjoy, with pictures. This book is a series of Dr. Suess-like poems. The poems are ok, just not what I thought I was purchasing.
you're going to love to have this book. I know you will have a great time reading this book. I'm not gonna make you buy it. I'm just trying to tell you that you are going to be in the same page as I am.

How I only wish this book had pictures so it could be more of a bedtime book for the younger kids. I am glad that the author did want the kids to use their imagination, but thats harder for bedtime with younger kids (2-5)
The author provides some nice background information on his approach to writing. He was influenced by Dr. Seuss and Shel Silverstein.
Each poem in the book has an illustration. The illustrations are very good pen and ink drawings that are very detailed and very imaginative. These are some of the best illustrations I've ever seen in a children's book, and I've seen a lot of children's books!
The poems themselves are fun, too. They are full of witty and ingenuous rhymes and word play. The rhythm of the poems is fun, and helps to move the stories along. It is easy to visualize the poems because J Kaylin is an artist who paints with words.
